What is a Community Foundation?

Community foundations are the best way to help your hometown flourish, forever. Community foundations positively impact community well-being by investing gifts from donors, supporting local projects, and engaging in leadership initiatives.

Granting

The following guidelines are intended to assist applicants for undesignated grants – those made from the unrestricted income of the Virden Area Foundation.

Giving

A gift to the Virden Area Foundation will provide long lasting benefits to the Virden Area. A donor may designate a specific beneficiary of the fund, designate a field of interest for the fund, or leave the decision making to the Board based on its knowledge of community needs.
